1000 Cranes

Taking inspiration from the incredible story of  Sadako Sasaki, Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes, middle school students from Maria Montessori School worked together to fold their own 1000 cranes.  Following Sasaki’s tradition, after folding the cranes, the students made a collective wish for a cure for cancer. The finished piece was both visually stunning and extremely meaningful to the students and the school community. The piece is now in the collection of St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
